P*B* Playlist – Woman is a word

This playlist was inspired by "Woman is a Word" from Empress Of's mesmerising 2015 "Me" album in which she explores different sides of femaleness: for me “making music and being a woman are one".
Although apparently simple, her lyrics go directly to the point:
"I'm only an image of what you see
You don't know me.
I'm only a woman if woman is a word
A bird to a bee
I'm always coming on the inside,
When you are coming on the outside.
I'm only a figure if you can see my frame Fire with no flame
I'm only a struggle if I get in your way You made the road one way"
A beautiful example of contemporary feminist poetry, her album speaks of love, relationships, of social expectations, of freedom and feeling both strong and vulnerable. We are very glad to hear that she is coming out with new songs, we honestly can't wait to hear more.
